Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector | Review

This year I have definitely been getting into wearing foundation. Whilst it may not be part of my everyday routine, I am enjoying trying different formulas and finishes. Earlier in the year I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector, after reading good reviews online. It ticked all the boxes for me, lightweight, light coverage and it was just a case of trying it!

fullsizeoutput_3c2Whilst the shade range is small, with only 6 shades, I have the lightest shade in Light and it matches my skin really well! For a foundation shade range, only six shades is pretty poor. For £28 you get 40ml of product, which I don’t think is too bad for a high end foundation. It is described on UrbanDecay.co.uk as:

One step and you’re done. Instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone—for beautifully perfected, ultra definition skin.

The best of both worlds, this hybrid complexion cream combines the benefits of a sheer foundation with the coverage of a tinted moisturizer—and our high-tech, weightless formula feels amazing on your skin. One & Done provides all-day wear and covers a wide range of skin tones. But the best part is how it transforms the look of your skin! Light-diffusing spheres immediately help make flaws seem to disappear. Over time, pores appear smaller and skin appears noticeably firmer and more radiant.

We loaded One & Done with so many nourishing ingredients (including peptides, vitamins and moisturizers), you’ll be tempted to skip your skin treatment. Gatuline® Radiance—derived from the wu zhu yu plant—improves the look of radiance, tone and texture. And SPF 20 protects against sun damage.

Wear alone for gorgeous skin. For the perfect application, use our Optical Blurring Brush. For extra hydration, apply after your moisturizer.

This lightweight, light coverage foundation matches my skin perfectly, it doesn’t oxidise or cake up on my combination skin, which is a must have for me when it comes to foundation! Whilst it is a hybrid of a tinted moisturiser and light coverage foundation, I really enjoy using it! I am not a lover of full coverage foundation, I prefer light to medium foundations. This foundation is perfect for an everyday makeup and for a no makeup makeup look. Whilst it may be light coverage it can be built up without going cakey.

With just the One & Done applied

Having combination skin, this foundation is literally like another layer of skin. It appears shiny throughout the day, as my skin does naturally in certain areas, but nothing a powder touchup can’t get rid of. It covers up light blemishes or slight discolouration. But for redder undertones either needs layering or going over with a concealer.

One & Done also has SPF 20, which for the warmer weather is a nice bonus but not a deal breaker for me. Whilst it does contain SPF, it doesn’t give flash back. The packaging is a bit odd as it’s a pump on the end of a tube rather than a bottle, which means for travel it’s fab as the product in theory can’t explode or go all over the other items! But it doesn’t put me off the product.

After all my makeup is applied

Overall I really like this foundation, for me it does everything I want from a foundation and it is perfect for everyday wear, plus it doesn’t break me out! Thank you so much for reading! What’s your favourite foundation?

Until next time!
