Unicorn Cosmetics – UC Beauty Egg | Review

A while ago I was contacted by Mel from Unicorn Cosmetics to try some of her products. She kindly sent me over some products of my choice to try, some lashes – which you can read a review here – this beauty egg and a lipgloss. It took me a while to jump on the beauty sponge band wagon, but I have been really enjoying using them and was looking forward to trying this one out!

The sponge is slightly damp after not long being cleaned

On UnicornCosmetics. co.uk the sponge is described as:

Used dampened, The Beauty Egg delivers a seamlessly blended finish to your foundation application. Designed with both a flat and pointed edge, this innovative applicator reaches both smaller and larger areas of the face for comfortable and convenient use. A sturdier Beauty egg for those who like a firmer application tool.

I chose to try the sponge* as it has some good reviews and so thought it would be a fab product to try! The photo above is not long after cleaning the sponge, there are still spots of foundation/concealer but they were being a pain to remove so I don’t mind them. I know I’ll clean it again in a few days! The sponge is fairly easy to keep clean. But like with all the other sponges I’ve tried I find it difficult to get all the brush cleaner out of them!

For £4.99 it is a good sponge, it is firmer than any other beauty sponge I’ve tried. The beauty egg applied liquid foundation really well. I find it doesn’t soak up as much product as other sponges, meaning less product is used. You can purchase the sponge here, to save money off your purchase use code HANNAH15 at the checkout!**

The only thing I would change would be a flat side, not just on the under side of the sponge, so it would be easier to get under the eyes where the point is. I really enjoy using this sponge, it’s super affordable and does a great job!

What’s your favourite beauty sponge? Thank you so much for reading, until next time
