Urban Decay Pro Brush Set | Review

For my birthday earlier this year I was gifted this Urban Decay brush set from my parents. I had seen the set in Debenhams, but not picked it up. To my delight they made their way into my collection as a gift!

The gift set is £70 and features 5 pro brushes stored in a travel bag, which you can find here. It’s described on UrbanDecay.co.uk as;

Just because you’re on the go doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice form for function. Urban Decay introduces the UD Pro Essential Brush Stash. Ideal for travel, yet suitable for everyday use, this must-have set features five of UD’s pro-quality, cruelty-free brushes, plus the perfect bag.

Easy on the eyes AND the environment, UD Pro Brushes feature super-soft, synthetic hair made from recycled plastic bottles. It mimics real hair—from the feel to the pickup and laydown. Another plus: Synthetic brush hair doesn’t hold on to gross bacteria the way porous animal hair can, so it’s easier to clean and more hygienic. And the brushed gunmetal handles are made from recycled aluminum. This amazing brush kit has all the basics covered—from foundation and concealer to shadow and blush.

To keep your makeup tools protected, this set includes UD’s Urban Tool Carryall. Like a bag and a travel cup in one, it’s the perfect travel accoutrement for all your makeup tools. Shaped like a cup on the bottom, it stands up on any flat surface. Unzip the angled top half of the bag and fold it down to keep everything accessible while you work your magic.

All five brushes featured in the set
  • Optical Blurring Brush – this is a densely packed brush blends out foundation evenly. Buffing it to a natural and air-brushed finish.
  • The Finger Brush – providing a finger-like control combined with the stippling effect of a brush to blend out concealer
  • Diffusing Blush Brush – a fluffy, angled brush that diffuses blush onto the cheeks
  • Iconic Eyeshadow Brush – an all around eye brush
  • Flat Eyeshadow brush – for precise shading or highlighting the brow bone

Over the past few months I have been using these brushes a lot. The Optical Blurring Brush has become my go-to for applying foundation. It does exactly what it’s described as, applying foundation like a dream with a beautiful finish. The Finger Brush is really good for blending out concealer under the eyes. I really like using this and it makes blending concealer super quick and easy.  With the Diffusing Blush Brush my go to for applying blush, it applies just the right amount on my cheeks. The Iconic Eyeshadow Brush is great for blending out shades or for packing on colour. As for the Flat Eyeshadow brush I feel like all flat brushes apply product the same.

Overall I really love this set, it adds a great selection of brushes into my collection and the carryall is what I have been using when I  have been travelling. It fits the perfect amount of brushes in and keeps them safe! It is fairly easy to keep clean with a makeup/baby wipe if you do get makeup on it! If you can I definitely recommend getting your hands on this set, or if your after a new foundation brush I can’t rave about the Optical Blurring Brush enough!

Thank you so much for reading, what are your favourite brushes? Until next time
