Hello everyone, today’s post is something a bit different. I for one am guilty of not giving myself enough me time. Mainly because I’ve been super busy and life can get in the way sometimes. But having said that there is nothing better than having a full on pamper session in the evening (or any time of the day)! It makes me feel so relaxed and ready for what the next week has to bring! I have been trying to have at least a few hours a week just for me, it’s so important to give time to yourself to recharge and to not have everything constantly whirling around on a never ending to do list! So here are the things I like to do just for me!
I love a good bath bomb from Lush and reading in the bath! I find it so relaxing and it really helps me to unwind! My favourite bath bombs include The Comforter, Dragons Egg, Butter Bear and Magic Wand! I don’t know what it is about baths but I spend hours just floating and reading. It’s so relaxing for me, plus if I’ve got a cold/feel unwell they make me feel a bit better!
Taking care of my skin has definitely been something I am becoming more invested in. I have gone from owning one face mask to about 6 in the last few months. Some of my favourite skin treats include Hyaluronic sheet face mask from Boots, Soap & Glory Face Masks and The Body Shop Mediterranean Almond Milk with Oats Mask.
A good moisturise
I am so guilty of not moisturising my skin enough then wondering why it’s got so dry! After my bath or shower I’ll spend time and moisturise the whole of me before putting on a onesie! Lush’s Sleepy is one I love to use before bed as it makes me feel even more relaxed! I also really like the moisturisers from Soap & Glory, they make my skin feel so smooth the next day!
Painting my nails
Having a fresh set of painted nails makes me feel so put together. My go to shades for my nails are a nude, wine red, black, pale blue or pistachio green. It really depends on what mood I’m in and what colour takes my fancy! Of course making my toe nails match too!
I have always been a bookworm, books are a great form of escape and living in another world. I love books about the Tudors, Egyptians and the occasional romance! I have also recently gotten into poetry books, which since I discovered them I can’t stop buying more! My collection has grown so much I have a separate home for all my poetry books!
Those are the things I like to do when I want to relax. Of course watching a good TV show/film is always a great way to relax! I never used to give time to myself to really take care of me, but it’s something that has become more important to me and something I try to implement more. Thank you so much for reading, what’s something you like to do to relax?
Until next time,
