Face Halo | Review

For a while I’d seen the Face Halo floating around on Instagram but never really thought it would work, so when I saw a few good reviews on other blogs/on Instagram it was almost fate when I saw it had launched in Boots.

The Face Halo is described as:

With soft satin edges, Face Halo The Modern Makeup Remover is designed with a stylish black and white colourway. Dual-sided and reusable, the gentle face pad is made up of fibres 100 times finer than human hair to ensure a deep, thorough clean that only uses water.

  • Each pad can be machine washed up to 200 times.

The Face Halo can be bought in the UK from Boots, one Face Halo cost Β£7 and a pack of 3 can be bought from Beauty Bay for Β£18, both the original (white) and the pro (black) can be bought. Initially I bought 1 from Boots as I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I was so impressed I bought another one from Boots, without realising they can be bought in a 3 pack from Beauty Bay. I’ll buy the 3 pack of pro ones when the original ones need replacing, as the white ones stain easily.

When I first used the Face Halo, I wanted to see how it would do with a full face of makeup and to be honest I was impressed. It was so easy to remove all of my makeup, including the eyeliner, lash glue and the bold lip. It just removed it so effortlessly. After each use of the pad I give it a mini clean with soap to rinse off the makeup so I can use it again. Depending on how much makeup I’ve worn during the week I usually replace the pad weekly. So there is always on in the wash. After using the pad I dried my face and went over my skin with a micellar water, as I do no matter what I use to remove my makeup. There was still some foundation left on my skin, but not a lot. Sometimes there is mascara if I’m wearing a stubborn one.

I have been using it now for a little while and I’m super impressed with these little pads! Whilst it is annoying that the makeup has stained the pad after being washed, it still does a great job at removing my makeup. I still use a micellar water after using the pad, just to ensure all the makeup is off and my skin is completely clean.

I’ve found since using it my skin has cleared up a lot more, which is also due to upping my skincare regime. The Face Halo doesn’t irritate my skin, it’s super soft and removes makeup so easily. I don’t have to scrub my eyes to get stubborn eyeliner off, nor any lip product. Plus it means I have been using a lot less cotton pads to remove makeup, which is a win win for the environment and saving money.

I’m so happy I finally jumped on this band wagon, not only has it been great for my skin but also for the environment! Have you tried the Face Halo, let me know in the comments below! Until next time,

x

I purchased a 3 pack of these but only reach for one occasionally to remove my makeup so I passed the other two along and kept the one. It does seem effective at removing makeup but I think the reason I only reach for it sometimes is because it does need to be rinsed/cleaned after each use haha – good product though πŸ™‚ x
