As the weather is starting to get chillier and the clocks have gone back I wanted to share some products that I love to use to help keep my skin hydrated and healthy during the colder months. These are just a few of my faves that have really helped my skin in the colder weather!
Starting with skincare, as your makeup can only look as good as the skin underneath. My skin type is combo, but I find during the winter it tends to go drier.
I have been loving The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream, it is really hydrating for my skin and I wake up with smooth hydrated skin. I use this in the evening 3 times a week, along with my normal night cream. Another treatment I like to do once or twice a week is to use the Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend, this really hydrates my skin and I wake up with glowy skin.
Other skincare I find helps to keep my skin hydrated and nourished is the The Body Shop Vitamin E Eyecream, my under eyes can look quite dry so keeping them as hydrated as possible is key. This Body Shop one is perfect, it does exactly what I need it to.
I don’t know about you but my lips always seem to be a little dry and needing some TLC, normally I use Burts Bee lip balm. But for Christmas last year I was gifted a Liz Earle skincare set, along with it the Superskin Superlip balm and it’s changed my life. It is a little pricey for a lip balm but it’s the best one I’ve ever tried, it keeps my lips so hydrated and stops them from cracking in the cold. Of course there are probably cheaper alternatives, but I have yet to try one that matches to this!
Onto makeup, I find it really hard to find a foundation that doesn’t make me look to shiny nor stick to dry areas, two foundations that I have been loving are the Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation and Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation. They both give beautiful finishes to the skin without sticking to any dry areas nor without making my skin look too shiny. Plus neither oxidise nor separate on the skin after a few hours.
Another product I find can enhance dryness on my skin is setting powder, however the No 7 Loose Powder is finely milled and sits well on my skin, especially under my eyes where I find some powders can make them look caked and dry. Plus I only use a little bit each time, making the product last!
Onto a product that falls into neither category is the NAF Cuticle Oil Pen. No matter what season I constantly have dry hands, but in the winter it’s made even worse. When I heard about the NAF cuticle oil I decided to give it a whirl, as I’d tried so many other hand/cuticle products without any luck. But this little pen has really made a difference, I use it multiple times every day. My nails are still dry, but no where near as bad as they were/used to be.
Those are a few of the products I have been enjoying as the months are getting colder. What products do you enjoy using this time of year, let me know in the comments below!
