Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands, so when they released a new foundation a little while a go I gave it a try. Finding the right foundation can be a challenge, some are too dewy on my oily skin. I prefer a more natural matte finish in foundations and one that can hold my oily skin at bay.
The Naked Skin foundation is £29.50 and I picked up my from Boots, they have 50 shades to choose from, and I chose the shade 40NN. It is described as:
A vegan formula, buildable medium coverage foundation with a real-skin matte finish that lasts up to 24-hrs
Find your naked truth with Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation. We designed this lineup of 50 shades with 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 7 undertones to dial in your precise color match.
Our waterproof, longwear foundation feels like wearing nothing, thanks to a flexible formula that feels breathable, and moves with you (all day and all night, up to 24 hours!). It not only feels better, it even looks better with its stay-true color, which minimizes the appearance of pores—so you always look like you.
The packaging for this foundation feels quite cheap considering it’s pretty much £30. But I like it nonetheless, the only fault is I find cap comes off a bit too easily. With 50 shades to choose from and a range of tones, it can be a bit overwhelming looking at all the shades with their numbers and letters. But they are easy to break down. After the number is the master tone, either Warm, Neutral or Cool. Then the undertones like Yellow, Pink, Red, Neutral, Orange, Blue. So for me I chose 40 NN – 40 Neutral Neutral.
Matching my skin perfectly this foundation applies with a skin like finish, and it buildable coverage. I find I use half a pump and it covers my skin and any imperfections. With a skin like finish and no oxidisation, it looks so natural on the skin. It gives a medium coverage, which can be built up if needs be.
I find that even though when applied it leaves a beautiful finish, it does appear oily on my skin after a few hours, but it is easily fixed with a bit of powder. Overall I am really impressed with this foundation. It doesn’t cake up on my skin, or separate. As for lasting 24 hours, I haven’t tested it for that long, but it certainly is able to hold up all day and on a night out. It only needs powdering every so often if you have oily skin.
Stay Naked has certainly become a firm favourite in my collection, although it can appear shiny, most foundations I’ve tried do the same. I love that I can wear it all day and not have to worry about it separating or going patchy. The finish is super natural which I prefer and it just does an all round great job. So if you’re looking for a new foundation to try I definitely recommend this one! Thank you so much for reading, what’t your go to foundation?
