I think we can all agree 2020 was the craziest year of them all. No one could’ve predicted the insane time we would all go through. From hearing about the coronavirus at the beginning of the year and how blasé everyone was about it in January and how it was only effecting China, to suddenly impacting the entire world by mid March.
Mentally 2020 was incredibly hard. Not only going through lockdown twice in the UK, but also trying to keep up with the constant changes the government were making. Not seeing family, friends or having anywhere to go to was strange. It feels like a life time ago we were only allowed out for an hour of exercise a day and Tiger King was taking over the internet. It’s hard to differentiate most of 2020 as I spent the majority of it in my kitchen working from home. The only difference was I was either basking in the sunshine or wrapped in a blanket!
One thing 2020 has taught me is to not taking anything for granted and to live the life I want now rather than waiting for certain things to happen before doing them. Life is happening now and it may as well be lived. I have started to not hold myself back when it comes to being who I am. Working on my mental health to find who I am, what I want and where I want to be, not brushing things under the carpet to deal with at a later date as it really does more harm than good.
I have also started to not hold myself back from doing more challenging makeup looks, I found I was starting to doubt myself with what I could and couldn’t do. Not doing looks I deemed to challenging and not even trying them. However, towards the end of the year I started to push out of my comfort zone and found that the challenging look I thought was too hard, I found a way to achieve it and (if I may say so) smash it!
For 2021 I hope this year is more positive and full of opportunities, full of love and full of making memories. I have found how much stronger I can be in 2020. I don’t need to wait for certain things to happen before I can live my life how I want. I can literally wake up and live how ever I want to. So that’s exactly what 2021 will be about.
